Access Independent Living Services
Conceived in 1986 by a committee of concerned individuals living and working in a transitional living centre for adults with physical disabilities, and incorporated as a non-profit charitable organization in 1987, Access Independent Living Services began providing services in early 1989. In response to a shortage in Toronto of accessible housing with attendant support services, the organization has grown to include multiple locations, an outreach program, and a mobile attendant services program. The caring and gifted team at Access Independent Living Services provide a variety of flexible attendant care support services in the spirit of the independent living philosophy.
